Mark Taylor

Director, Technical Design

Driven by a thirst for knowledge and a passion for detail, Mark is responsible for technical design and quality, providing knowledge transfer, research and support on construction, sustainability, building physics and processes. He shapes technical excellence across the range of our work.

Mark is active in wider discussions regarding technical building performance and in helping to establish industry guidance. He is chair of the BSI panel writing new BS 8579 Guide to the design of Balconies and Terraces and member of BSI committee B_209 General Building Codes, previously is chair. He sits on the BIBA Regulations and Standards Committee and was a board member of the Society of Facade Engineering (SFE). He has been a Judge for SFE Facade of the Year competition and a member of the SFE Fire Committee. Mark has given numerous talks delivered to technical and facades related conferences over the last few years.

From Derby, Mark enjoys painting watercolours and travel sketching and sees London as an unparalleled architectural epicentre. He has been a champion of the practice's pro bono work, contributing to the design of several school of projects in Africa. He trained at De Montfort University and Bath University.
