South Place Hotel

View all projects

Ideally located for business travellers to the City, this boutique hotel animates the street while drawing people into a largely business area in the evenings and at weekends. It provides eighty guest bedrooms with restaurants and bars including a destination rooftop terrace. The silvery metal facade surface is both the wall and the roof, etched or eroded to represent both function and structure. Folding to become the roof, the surface opens to receive the dormers and is perforated to reveal the rooftop, which has its own al fresco restaurant.
