The Hill, Wimbledon

View all projects

Hugely popular with visitors to the Championships, the Hill is the location from which spectators can watch the tennis live via the big screen on the side of Court One. However, in its current arrangement, the Hill is not readily accessible and has some safety issues. The project, designed to be complete for the 150th anniversary of the tournament in 2027, will reduce the Hill’s gradient with the introduction of gentle terracing providing 20% more seating, provide replacement pathways made from permeable material to improve access, and install a new pergola at the top of the Hill for shelter and shade.
