Filton Airfield

View all projects

This redevelopment of Filton Airfield re-imagines an iconic piece of Britain's aeronautical heritage. Filton is famously the home of Concorde and the Corps in the First World War and RAF Spitfires in the Second. Located on the northern edge of Bristol the site will provide a vibrant neighbourhood with new homes, a new town centre and schools, together with new transport connections. The masterplan draws on the site's history by recognising that the site's stretching emptiness is part of its character by tracing the shape of the runway as a spine of green spaces and stitching this vast site back into its surrounding hinterland, creating Filton's next incarnation.
