Andrew Rixson
Associate DirectorLooking to work on cultural projects in historic contexts, Andrew joined Allies and Morrison straight out of university. He started out in the initial phases of Msheireb Downtown Doha and went on to develop a wealth of knowledge and experience in mid to later design stages, leading teams for the German Gymnasium at Kings Cross, Project Prospero at The Globe and 15 Water Street, a large mixed-use building at Wood Wharf.
Andrew has recently led the delivery of 2 Aldermanbury Square, a BREEAM Outstanding office development in the City of London which balances historical sensitivity, sustainability ambitions and commercial outcomes. The building almost doubles the amount of floor area formerly on the site while reclaiming 80% of the steel frame and achieving a carbon footprint below the Net Zero Carbon Building Standard threshold.
From Birmingham, he trained at the University of Portsmouth, The Sir John Cass School of Art, Architecture and Design and the Bartlett. He is a member of the practice’s conservation group.
