Building 2, Quayside

View all projects

Following an invited competition, we were selected as the architects for Building 2, Quayside, within a new low-carbon neighbourhood close to downtown Toronto and steps from Lake Ontario’s waterfront. Part of an ensemble of six buildings connected by an urban forest, the 53-storey tower responds to the surrounding urban, suburban and natural contexts through a stepped back form and active frontages. Providing 576 high-quality rental homes, Building 2 will offer benefits to residents and the community with a daycare, health and wellness facilities, community kitchen, flexible education rooms and co-working areas plus an outdoor terrace. At street level, a cafe and retail space animate the public realm and provide a welcoming approach from Small Street.
