Anthony Benson

A qualified urban planner and urban designer, Anthony is based in the north-west, dividing his time between his desk at our waterfront Liverpool office, our Manchester studio space and Southwark Street.

Before joining us, Anthony worked in a number of local authority planning departments making him perfectly placed to now support local authority clients to deliver development and investment strategies.

With us, Anthony has led high-profile planning, masterplanning and development strategy projects in locations across the country. These range from place-based town centre frameworks to borough-wide evidence base studies to supporting emerging Local Plans. Recent projects include supporting LB Hackney in the production of the Shoreditch Area Action Plan, strategic growth masterplans in Cheltenham and Norwich, and town centre strategies in Shropshire and Kirklees.

In his hometown of Liverpool, he enjoys the new connections that have been forged between the city’s retail area and Liverpool’s iconic waterfront, evidence of what good urban planning can achieve.

Anthony is a member of the RTPI and holds postgraduate degrees in urban design and town planning from Oxford Brookes University.
