Nick studied architecture at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and at the University of Westminster. He joined Allies and Morrison in 2001 and became a Director of the practice in 2005.
Nick has a particular interest in the design and detailing of projects with highly specific client requirements, many in an historical context. He was Project Architect on Allies and Morrison’s own studio building which won an RIBA London Building of the Year Award in 2004.
Recently, Nick has acted as Project Director for the Rambert’s new headquarters on London’s South Bank. The building won an RIBA National Award in 2014, with the judges praising the ‘crispness of the architectural details’ and ‘the deep attention to dancer’s needs’. Nick also acted as Director in charge of £240m regeneration project for the Westgate area of central Oxford for which he was responsible for the masterplan and key retail and residential buildings.
Currently, Nick is leading the design of the first phase of a masterplan, landscaping and works to listed buildings at St Peter’s College, Oxford.
