Thetford Town Centre Masterplan

View all projects

Thetford is an historic market town with a population of just over 20,000 people, which is due to expand by 5,000 new homes. The masterplan for its town centre sets out a number of proposals to enhance the environment, improve the leisure and retail offer, repair the historic fabric and provide better links to the wider area. A key concern was the desire to broaden Thetford's appeal and attract new visitors. Importantly, the masterplan seeks to capitalise on the town's attractive waterside location on the Little Ouse River.
