Impact Works 2025: Shared purpose, long term value

With the realities of climate change, ecological degradation, and resource depletion now undeniably clear, we have entered an era that must focus on deliverable solutions. Achieving these requires a blend of creativity and endeavour to unlock sustainable, long-term opportunities that align economic, environmental, and social value. Our inaugural 2025 impact report focuses on these solutions; tracking progress across both our operational 'practice impact' and our creative 'practice works' to articulate the shared purpose and approach that underpins our work.

Practice impact.

Opening with insights from Artur Carulla and Mark Watts (Executive Director, C40 Cities) on the challenges and progress within the built environment through 2025, the report then looks inward. Key milestones for the practice include a renewed sustainability strategy, enhanced project performance tracking from design through occupation, the launch of our Toronto and Jeddah studios, and an increased focus on industry-wide dialogue through our Climate Change Group and Citymakers conference. Notable progress has been made through 2025 with our SBTi-aligned decarbonisation pathway, achieving a 6% emissions reduction despite the expanding international reach of our projects.

Practice works.

This year’s work reflects a marked shift toward sustainability-led commissions - from positive placemaking in Wimbledon, Luton, and Ebbsfleet to climate-responsive design across the Arabian Peninsula. A particular highlight is the expansion of our Passivhaus and Net Zero portfolio in Cambridge, which now serves as a blueprint for responsible density in a city facing significant growth pressures. These achievements are the direct result of a committed, diverse team working in harmony with a rich community of collaborators. To them all, we offer our sincere thanks.
