Finbarr studied architecture at University College of Dublin, and worked in London before joining Allies and Morrison in 2000. He has been Project Architect for a variety of schemes in the practice, including the RIBA Award-winning One Piccadilly Gardens in central Manchester.
Finbarr enjoys an analytical and procedural approach to design, and is often involved at the earlier stages of projects, producing design layouts and planning documents. He has worked through the design stages up to planning submissions for a number of residential and mixed-us projects in UK. These include a predominately residential scheme in Godalming, Surrey and proposals at East Tilbury for residential development.
Finbarr was project architect for a number of schemes which sit within a masterplan for a new quarter in central Doha, Qatar. These include a series of townhouses which were developed to schematic design stage. Later in the project, Finbarr took on a monitoring and supportive role for the client which involved peer review of the Executive Architect’s work.
Finbarr has also worked on a number of masterplanning projects including being project architect for proposed new villages in Lincolnshire. Currently he is working on a residential mixed-use project in central London which includes some residential towers.
