How can an urban tower maintain legibility and respect of context?

by Alfredo Caraballo

Alfredo Caraballo joined Urban Design London’s morning event on ‘Understanding Housing Typologies’, held at nearby Palestra House in Southwark.

Held with the aim of exchanging knowledge on different housing types and layouts, from linear urban blocks to age friendly housing, Alfredo used the example of Keybridge to discuss how this development combines different typologies typically encountered across London into a single ensemble to optimise site use while mediating between the varying neighbouring contexts.

Other speakers included Alex Ely (Mae), Nelson Carvalho (Alison Brooks Architects), Anne-Marie Nicholson (PRP), Barry Sellers (LB Wandsworth) and Mike Althorpe (Karakusevic Carson Architects).
