Sandy Rattray

Director of Strategy

Sandy’s role encompasses setting the overall business strategy for the practice, in collaboration with the partnership, as well as being part of the Management Team. He joined us from the finance world, where he held a number of senior roles at investment firms in the UK and the US. His original training was in physics and statistics, skills that he used on a daily basis in his previous career. He had long harboured an interest in architecture, and in 2022 completed an MA in Architectural History at the Bartlett School of Architecture. Outside work, Sandy is a governor of the Southbank Centre and a governor of the King’s Maths School in London. He is also a director of the US public company MSCI.

When not working, he is happiest playing the piano, sailing or exploring the architecture of London on his bicycle.

Sandy grew up in Asia, Africa, continental Europe and the UK, and has a particularly strong interest in the mid-century architectural dialogue between Britain and Scandinavia, especially Sweden.
