Eric Hallquist

Director, Landscape

Eric leads our landscape architecture team and has a particular focus on the design of public realm. Great cities, he argues, are defined by the quality of their open spaces. Public realm should not only be beautiful and memorable but should be integral to tackling environmental issues such as air quality, water management and carbon sequestration.

At Allies and Morrison, Eric has developed landscape proposals for projects including Landmark Court, Harlow Town Centre, the Al Balad World Heritage Site, the award-winning Galway Public Realm Strategy, as well as contributing his expertise to various high-profile design competitions including Green City Kigali and Twickenham Riverside.

He is a practicing Landscape Architect with over 20 years of experience. While studying landscape architecture at Colorado State University, Eric specialised in urban design and ecology, the combination of which has formed the foundation to his theoretical approach to designing the built environment. Since then Eric has nurtured a diverse and international portfolio of projects with other leading design practices in the UK and the US. He is also a Design Reviewer for Design South East.
