Peckham Social Services Building

For the model of a proposed social services hub, the base is made using boxing out MDF then laser cutting lime veneer which is then clad to the outside of the MDF. The pavement layer is expressed through one additional layer of laser cut lime veneer. All the context buildings are machined out of solid lime timber then sanded; laser cut facades with windows and door locations are then applied. Our building has two layers of detail over a lime timber massing block. A brass metal etching was produced that has the window apertures punched out leaving the mullions and window frames showing. A layer of lime veneer was laser cut and then applied on top of the brass metal etching. This gives depth and detail to the facade.
