Canada Water, London
Our work with King’s College at Canada Water commenced with the development of a wider masterplan for the area. The study, developed with LB Southwark and the local community, illustrated how the College could form an integral part of a regenerated and vibrant town centre.
While implemented as a discreet first phase of this vision, our proposals for the former Mulberry Business Park site are both consistent with and seek to establish the principles of the masterplan.
The scheme is conceived as two mixed-use courtyard buildings comprising of a series of blocks varying between four and nine storeys in height. Separated by a new pedestrian street through the site, the buildings accommodate 770 student bedrooms and associated social and ancillary spaces; affordable housing in a range of unit sizes, flexible workspace for 300 people, a health centre, retail and cafe spaces.
