Baker Street, London

The Restaurant is located within the ground floor of a renovated 1950’s office building, radically transformed by Make Architects. It houses the restaurant in its Northeast corner, providing a primary frontage and entrance onto busy Baker Street, but also a presence on the quieter, residential Dorset Street. A further entrance at the rear of the restaurant connects to a glass roofed atrium belonging to the office tenants, bringing natural light to the deepest part of the plan.

Dining areas are defined at the perimeters with long runs of the signature Canteen booths whereas a less formal dining and drinking area is created around the bar. The well recognised Canteen palette of material and fixtures is again present; however, this palette naturally evolves in response to the unique character of each new site. The use of coloured back-lit glass over the back-bar; a Zinc bar counter; use of linoleum clad wall panelling and a recessed GRG down-light ceiling detail are all notable developments.
