Ian Sutherland

Director

With us since 1989, Ian has played a significant design role on a number of key projects. Ian is experienced in a wide range of building types form offices, residential and hotel through to cultural, religious and University faculty buildings.

Among these he was project architect for the Abbey Mills Pumping Station, and design director on the Horniman Museum and the BBC Media Village at White City, London, all of which went on to receive numerous architectural awards. He was the design director for a proposed hotel tower in Brighton; contributed to the design of 100 Bishopsgate in the City of London; and was a key member of the team developing proposals for Elizabeth House, a mixed-use and urban regeneration scheme next to Waterloo station. He also has been involved in a number of commercial and governmental buildings at Msheireb Downtown Doha. Recently, he has been involved in our masterplan and building design for new commercial development in Canary Wharf.

The author of many of our most evocative drawings, Ian studied architecture and engineering at the University of Cambridge.
