RIBA London Awards: King’s College School and Hollandgreen
In a ceremony last night at the RIBA, Portland Place, two Allies and Morrison projects were honoured with RIBA London Awards: King’s College School in Wimbledon and Hollandgreen, incorporating the Design Museum.
Our expansion project for King’s College School provides six new classrooms, administration and meeting spaces as well as a dramatic new double-height multi-use hall. The extension completes a set of courtyards, building on the character of its nineteenth-century campus in Wimbledon.
The second project, Hollandgreen, has been a joint effort bringing together Allies and Morrison with OMA and John Pawson, to create a new home for the Design Museum and three new apartment buildings at the south gate of Holland Park. The collaborative nature of the project has also led to it being shortlisted in this year’s AJ100 Awards for Collaboration of the Year.
Both projects will now be put forward for RIBA National Awards.
