RECENTLY INSTALLED: CARPENTERS LAND BRIDGE AT STRATFORD WATERFRONT

Over the recent Christmas break, the first element of Stratford Waterfront was installed. The Carpenters Land Bridge, a pedestrian and cycle bridge connects the future East Bank cultural and education quarter with the International Quarter, Stratford and beyond. Providing step-free access at both ends, the steel bridge lands between the buildings for the London College of Fashion and V&A East. It is a key part of the infrastructure for the new culture and education district, providing new access to the site.

The bridge has been designed by Arquitecturia Camps Felip and engineered by Buro Happold, who are part of the collaborative design team for East Bank led by Allies and Morrison and including architects O’Donnell + Toumey.
