Last December, Ealing Council granted planning approval for the Acton Gardens Masterplan. A significant estate regeneration project for the practice, the Borough and London, the masterplan will guide the development of 1,950 homes.

As part of the South Acton Estate Regeneration, the project is providing new and replacement homes, nearly doubling the number of new homes in an earlier 2014 consent. The design process has involved extensive consultation with the local residents, many of whom will be re-housed in the estate. There is a significant affordable component – 49% of all units (of which 76% is affordable rent). The masterplan will also deliver 4.7 hectares of new and enhanced public realm.

Included in the approval is detail approval for Plot 9.2. Containing more than 200 homes, Plot 9.2 will be 50% affordable. It will be a courtyard garden block incorporating an interesting typological ensemble: terraced family houses, mansion buildings and a 15-storey taller building.
