CONGREGATION BY THE ARCHITECTURE FOUNDATION: WESTBOURNE PARK BAPTIST CHURCH
Curated by the Architecture Foundation, Congregation is a new exhibition presenting 23 buildings that exemplify the changing nature of sacred architecture in Britain. Completed last month, a new hybrid building of ours is included in the exhibition.
Commissioned by Westbourne Park Baptist Church and Dolphin Square Foundation, the project brings together the sacred and the secular. It provides new accommodation for a church community, a family centre, Paddington Children’s Library, a community hall and thirty-two affordable rent apartments. The building also performs an important urban role, mediating between the taller mixed-use buildings on Porchester Road and the smaller scale residential character of the historic Westbourne Park Villas and Westbourne Park Road.
Congregation is on display at Saint Mary Magdalene’s, Rowington Close, London, W2 5TF until 7 March 2020.
