We are co-organising a series of City Crit Tours with the Architecture Foundation which uncover the process of masterplanning. Three tours will explore and juxtapose three different approaches to urban transformation in London.

In King’s Cross, a single owner-developer has curated the development of a large central London site resulting in one of the most successful regeneration projects of our time. In and around the Olympic Park, multiple developers and client bodies are brought under the guidance of a single Mayoral Development Corporation with planning powers. In Bankside, a more incremental, bottom-up decision-making takes place with an overview from the local authority and interested participants who make up a diverse and changing neighbourhood.

The tours will be led by designers from Allies and Morrison, who have played an essential role in the shaping of all three places:
