Canons Park Activity Centre
London
Canons Park is the playing field site belonging to Arnold House School and this project extends the existing community hall building to provide a new entrance together with changing facilities and teaching rooms.
The new changing block is a single-storey volume set behind a simple brick garden wall facing the street. A fully-glazed link connects it to the hall and creates a transparent entrance space offering long views through to the field from the forecourt. New teaching rooms are contained within a similar single-storey structure attached to the opposite side of the hall. A long veranda links each new wing, creating a covered space for viewing the sports and emphasising this facade as a front to the field.
