City Lit provides adult education for more than 24,000 students a year and this new building brings together all of its facilities in one central location.
Accommodation includes a range of teaching and study spaces with studios for dance, visual arts and music rehearsal. The entrance incorporates a cafe that spans the length of the south side of the building and a teaching theatre provides space for public performances.
The enclosing brickwork facade is cut and folded asymmetrically to create deep window reveals which are lined to one side in silver anodised aluminium.
