UNIVERSITY OF LINCOLN

Lincoln

The Engineering Hub at Lincoln University is a new four-storey brick building developed in partnership with the university and Siemens, a major engineering presence in the city, within our masterplan for the campus expansion. Home to the new School of Engineering, this innovative partnership runs undergraduate trainee courses directed towards immediate enrolment in the industry.

The Siemens workshop is situated on the ground floor of the building, and has a double-height volume visible through a largely glazed fa├žade adjacent to the central pedestrian route which forms a spine through the campus. Views of a gantry crane and other specialist engineering equipment in use helps to explicitly advertise the interactive modules of the course. Elsewhere, spaces for Siemens and University use are inter-mixed, reinforcing the collaborative spirit, encouraging the cross-pollination of ideas and providing integral training and development opportunities in preparation for postgraduate careers.
