TOTTENHAM HALE

Haringey, London

The 2006 Tottenham Hale masterplan proposed a new urban centre and transport interchange on the fringe of the Upper Lea Valley. A new public square, redeveloped station and bus interchange facilities combined with modifications to the existing one-way road network will enhance the Hale’s role as a strategic transport node with Victoria Line underground and mainline connections to Liverpool Street, Stratford and Stansted Airport.

The 3.5 m sq ft mixed use development framework includes a retail centre, re-configured industrial areas and 2500 new homes. A new linear park and footbridge will connect Tottenham to the waterfront. A public realm network of streets, footpaths and open spaces will support a catchment of 10,000 dwellings over the long term. The principles of the masterplan have been adopted by the London Borough of Haringey as part of a Supplementary Planning Document for Tottenham Hale.
