THE TABLE

Southwark, London

The Table is part of the ground floor of Allies and Morrison’s Southwark Street studio, facing both the busy main street and quieter Farnham Place. Entered from the pedestrian passage linking these two, the cafe operates throughout the day; the simple layout of tables and benches accommodating breakfast, lunch, coffee and dinner.

The design of the room itself is simple, at all times playing a supportive role to the activity of cooking, serving and eating. An open kitchen and a food table in the main window connect this activity to the street while a paved terrace takes the first step in Allies and Morrison’s re-landscaping of Farnham Place.
