ST PAUL'S PLACE

Sheffield

1 and 2 St Paul’s Place are new commercial buildings forming part of the St Paul’s Place masterplan in Sheffield city centre. The buildings are shaped by their relationship to the new public squares they face and by the requirement to provide flexible commercial accommodation.

The mass and height of the blocks relate directly to the scale of neighbouring buildings and the facades are organised in a tripartite composition with retail at ground level, six or seven floors of office space above, and a glazed office pavilion at the top. Elevations of both buildings interplay a mixture of local gritstone, aluminium cladding and vertical or horizontal aluminium fins to reduce solar gain.
