PERINATAL DEPARTMENT

Rosie Maternity Hospital

The new Perinatal Building is an extension to the existing three-storey Rosie Maternity Hospital, part of Addenbrooke’s Hospital. It is the first new development within our masterplan for the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

The new three-storey building encloses two new courtyard gardens against the existing building. This maximises daylight in both buildings, allows the new rooms to open onto these spaces, and also redefines the existing building’s relationship with its landscape.

The main maternity and perinatal departments are centrally served by a new garden pavilion which accommodates shared facilities for patients, visitors and staff and provides a direct link into the main Hospital.
