NINE ELMS PARKSIDE

Wandsworth, London

Allies and Morrison is currently masterplanning a 5.64 hectare site at Nine Elms in South London, currently home to Royal Mail Group sorting offices. The site is located at the centre of the Nine Elms industrial area, which is now identified in the London Plan and emerging Wandsworth LDF as an Opportunity Area. As such, the site lies in an area of anticipated large scale redevelopment including the new United States Embassy and Battersea Power Station.

A perimeter block typology forms the basis of the masterplan. Communal gardens lie at the centre of each perimeter block and the blocks frame a key section of a new linear public park, running east-west, parallel to the river. Landscape proposals centre around an extensive sustainable urban drainage strategy while the orientation, scale and type of built form maximises access to sunlight and daylight.
