Allies and Morrison were appointed to design the Fulham Road facade of this retail and leisure development which also forms a new entrance to Fulham Broadway Underground Station. The four-storey facade consists of eight seven-metre wide bays split asymmetrically by a three-storey recessed glazed entrance to the new retail mall beyond. The entrance is marked by a high-level clock and integral signage within the facade plane.
The scale of the facade is reduced by a set back at third floor level and by providing a full length projecting canopy at second floor roof level, both of which run the length of the elevation. A typical bay consists of a precast concrete frame infilled by limestone panels at first floor level and articulated further by a tracery of metalwork placed into the fully glazed openings at the ground and second floors.
