ERICSSON, ANSTY PARK

Coventry

Two new buildings for the Swedish telecommunications firm Ericsson provide research and development facilities and form the first phase of development at a new business park near Coventry.

Located prominently at the entrance to the site, the buildings are set at right angles to one another each side of a pedestrian spine. A tree-filled entrance court provides visitor car parking and a smaller more private garden is accessible from the terrace of the staff restaurant. The facades of both buildings are clad in untreated timber boarding which continues internally to line the atrium and staircases. Vertical cement-board cladding panels are introduced to the south and west elevations to create depth and provide shading.
