Vimal Mehta

Associate Director

Vimal first discovered the practice’s work as a student, when he was taken on a site visit to the Horniman Museum, then under construction, and was inspired by the project’s layering of spaces from the Grade ll building, to modern extension, to the expansive grounds.

His first major project for us, and one he has very fond memories of, was leading the delivery of the Main Press Centre for the Olympic Games, running the project on site in the buzz and build up to London 2012. He went on to lead our work at Wood Wharf, a regeneration masterplan comprising major residential, community, retail and office buildings, together with significant public realm and infrastructure. He is now overseeing the detail design and delivery of an office building on the site as part of the first phase of work. In between times he was closely involved with the award-winning York Central masterplan to create a new urban district where the historic city meets the landscape of the River Ouse, successfully guiding the project to approval by the city.

Vimal studied architecture at Cambridge and the Bartlett, and spent a year working in Mumbai before joining the practice in 2006.
