John studied Interior Design at Kingston Polytechnic (now Kingston University) and Environmental Design at the Royal College of Art, followed by the Architectural Association. He joined Allies and Morrison in 2006.
Since joining the practice, John has worked on a broad range of schemes including the Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery in Exeter, the Quadrant on London’s Regent Street and Girton College in Cambridge. He also had a key role within the practice’s London 2012 team looking after the technical delivery of the Structures, Bridges and Highways work stream in the Olympic Park in the role of ‘clients representative’ for the Olympic Delivery Authority on site. During this period John amassed a huge amount of knowledge and hands-on practical experience.
The practice has been able to draw on this experience in John’s more recent position within the practice’s Technical Team where the focus is on detail and the uniquely challenging role of drawings and specification and the practical realities of construction on site. It is a role that draws on his hard-won knowledge and experience and one that the practice is keen to utilize in helping to ‘mentor’ the younger architects.
