David Amarasekera

David trained in Malawi and worked alongside Graham Morrison at YRM Architects. He joined Allies and Morrison in 1987.

David is responsible for technical direction across the practice and he leads the technical team. Specialising in procurement and construction, he supports teams working on projects of every size and at each workstage. He has assisted in the delivery and provided technical support for the RIBA Award winning Simon Smith Building, Brighton College and hollandgreen, a residential development in Kensington. David also mentors young architects.

As Construction and Design Management (CDM) Director, David advises on health and safety matters during the design and planning phases of construction. He also champions Quality Management, guiding the practice in gaining ISO 9000, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and CHAS accreditation and overseeing the training and project auditing.

David was the Project Partner responsible for the refurbishment and extension of Allies and Morrison’s existing studios, Farnham place.
