Darren Leach

Darren trained in Construction Technology at the Somerset College of Arts and Technology before studying Architecture at the University of Portsmouth, where he received the RIBA South student award for his final year thesis project. He joined Allies and Morrison in 2013.

Working as a Project Architect, Darren has extensive experience running design teams and dealing with the planning, design and delivery of projects. He has developed experience in residential, retail, cultural, city-centre mixed-use and refurbishment projects including works to Grade I and Grade II listed buildings. Darren’s projects typically involve complex issues of combining a contemporary programme within precious historic fabric.

Darren has continued his professional development by undertaking the RIBA Conservation course and is working towards accreditation as a Conservation Architect.

Currently, Darren is leading a number of urban regeneration projects for the practice including Winchester Silver Hill, a mixed-use development in the heart of historic Winchester and Yeovil Vicarage Walk, a major town centre retail development in Somerset.
