Two Fifty One tops out
With the 40th floor slab now poured, Two Fifty One has topped out. The tower’s distinctive inclined triangular top has been revealed, taking its place on the south London skyline. The resultant sculptural form of the building as a whole changes considerably in character and appearance when viewed from different angles.
Located on Newington Causeway and within walking distance of Borough and Elephant & Castle tube stations, the new development will provide 335 new homes, of mixed tenure, in a rapidly changing Zone 1 neighbourhood. A smaller triangular 7-storey building will provide 3,100 sqm of modern office space and 280 sqm of retail development while framing a new public route.
The project has been designed by Allies and Morrison for Oakmayne Properties. The practice is also involved as architect for the nearby Elephant & Castle Town Centre project for Delancey and the University of Art London.
