Oxford Preservation Award for St Peter’s
Allies and Morrison’s work on the Linton Quad at St Peter’s College, Oxford, has won an Oxford Preservation Award. Bestowed by the Oxford Preservation Trust, the awards recognise those projects in Oxford that are ‘keeping the best of the old and encouraging the best of the new’.
The project has been a series of sensitive insertions that have gently transformed two of the College’s public spaces and formalises its chapel-side quadrangle. The Linton Quad improvements are part of a wider plan being carried out, described by the College as an effort to make St Peter’s a ‘better place to study, teach and live’ through the upgrading of its public realm. More information on St Peter’s overall refurbishment project can be found here.
The design and consultant team brought together Allies and Morrison as architects, landscape architects Bradley-Hole Schoenaich, contractor Edgar Taylor Ltd and gardening consultants Bowles & Wyer Contracts.
