New homes at Greenwich Peninsula get the go ahead
The Royal Borough of Greenwich has granted planning permission to Allies and Morrison’s design for 278 new homes in Greenwich Peninsula.
Comprising five new blocks on a site in very close proximity to the River Thames, the buildings have been designed as a family, balancing shared traits with each having its own individual expression. Generally light in colour and finely detailed, they have been designed with residents in mind, robust in materiality, providing generous natural light as well as ample balcony space. The new development will incorporate mixed tenure studio, 1-, 2- and 3-bed units, live-work studios, and generous ground-floor active spaces that extend into the planned adjacent park.
The new buildings are set within Greenwich Peninsula, which has been masterplanned by Allies and Morrison. The masterplan enables the delivery of six new neighbourhoods in a largely brownfield area of London in what is one of the capital’s largest new infill developments. It will create an important new district for London incorporating the 02 Arena and Ravensbourne College, two new public parks, a new transport interchange, as well as15,000 new homes.
